Purchased this to make a Christmas present so I am meeting a deadline. I liked it that we have a choice of the word chart or the graph; since I am in a hurry am using the word chart. That said your graph is so clear that I plan to use that to make one for myself. The only rough part is the addition of an extra row for joining, and this pattern has different patterns for each part and I had to play around bending the other way to find the pattern match. Have used another designer’s pattern that covers those issues. Will check out other patterns this shop offers for stars as this one was so unique.

Thanks for the feedback! This was the very first star with a “picture all over” that I created. There were very few similar designs back then, so I was pretty much finding my way as I went.
So yeah, in the first few designs, the method of adding extra rows was indeed a bit complicated. The extra rows were added while assembling the star. Now the method is much clearer and simpler — in all the star patterns, extra rows are added to the warped square before zipping.
The patterns now also include photos of the finished warped squares and of the units after five rows to help avoid those folding mishaps. 💕
